İGDAŞ, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, implemented the Biometric Signature (Secure Electronic Signature) project. With Biometric Signature, the paperwork is eliminated, and Istanbul residents can easily and quickly perform natural gas subscription and contract transactions.
Within the scope of the corporate digital transformation process, İGDAŞ has implemented a very important project that facilitates natural gas subscription and contract transactions by taking advantage of the opportunities of developing technology. With the IGDAS Biometric Signature Project, in which Turkcell also contributes, citizens who come to the branch for natural gas subscription and contract transactions can quickly and easily perform their transactions with Biometric Signature on their tablet devices, without the need for many mandatory documents.

Why is Secure Digital Signature (Biometric Signature) important to you, and how was it a solution to your needs in the digital transformation process?
Biometric Signature is a technology used for the secure, fast and easy digital completion of documented transactions and is one of the most important elements of our corporate digital transformation. With the developing technology, both the processes are getting easier and the opportunities offered are increasing. We, as İGDAŞ, started the Biometric Signature project with the coordination of our Information Systems and Customer Services Departments in order to harmonize our processes with technology and to facilitate the transactions of our subscribers. Thanks to this project, when our subscribers come to our branches, they can easily and quickly perform their transactions on their tablet devices with Biometric Signature. Thus, wet signature, printed documents, photocopies of additional documents, etc. such operations are eliminated.
What kind of problems did you encounter before the application in question?
Photocopies of documents were requested from our customers who came to our branches to make transactions, the transaction was printed out, and a copy was kept in the physical archive. Since Istanbul is a big city, over one million transactions are made annually at İGDAŞ branches. The contracts and their annexes produced in the branches were sent to the archive to be kept. Providing and maintaining the storage conditions of customer documents in the physical archive creates great costs.
What kind of benefits did you provide after the Biometric Signature solution?
Our customers were enabled to make more practical, fast and comfortable transactions. Requirements and problems related to copying and printing processes have been eliminated. At this point, the documents resulting from the transactions are sent to our customers via e-mail, and since these transactions are stored in the digital archive system, the relevant documents can be accessed retrospectively. Since the transactions are carried out in a short time, we save time, and we also contribute to the environment by saving paper, thanks to the fact that there is no printout as a result of the transaction.
How and in what direction did the Turkcell team support you during this process?
Turkcell's leading and active role in the widespread use of Biometric Signature is known. For this reason, working with Turkcell contributed significantly to the rapid and effective conclusion of our project during the implementation process.

As always, İGDAŞ is a company that leads the sector, follows technology closely, and develops projects and applications to keep customer satisfaction at the highest level. Our customers are very pleased to be able to carry out their transactions with Biometric Signature on the tablet. In fact, we receive feedback that they express their satisfaction with this practice in other institutions they receive service from.
